Serial watchers wear the best Mangalsutra in town!
You thought daily soaps only
triggered fights over the remote in every household? Then you are wrong. They
have inspired fashion trends too. Ever since the daily soap culture has kicked in, the sarees, the jewels and the make-up, everything has been named after the character's name. Haven't you heard of the Komolika make-up or Tulsi Sarees? Now the same trend is being observed in Mangalsutra. More and more women now visit their family jewellers and ask for the Mangalsutra design worn by their favourite characters in daily soaps.
For instance, when you say Saraswati Mangalsutra, you are referring to the design worn by Saraswati in the titular Marathi serial. Take a closer look at the Tanmaniya. It is not a regular pendant but the symbol of Hindu Goddess Saraswati. Enthused by the unique design, the devotees of the Goddess of wisdom made a beeline at their nearest jewellery shop to buy it.
There are many more such Mangalsutra designs that are a rage, courtesy TV serials. Here’s the complete list.
Another Marathi serial that is driving the Mangalsutra trend is Honar Mi Sun Hya Gharchi. The three-layered pattern worn by Janvi in the serial is now popular as Janvi Mangalsutra.
Hindi serials too are not far behind in amping up the Mangasutra game. Mouni Roy's single diamond Mangalsutra in Naginn 1 and 2 sold like pancakes during the seasons' runtime.
Even Pragya from Kumkum Bhagya raised the bar for jewellery designers.
That's not all. The three-petal Mangalsutra worn by Annika in Ishqbaaz too has joined the league.
