To serve the nation, Smriti Irani tones down her style
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Davos to attend the World
Economic Forum Meeting. We hear Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is also present there. He
is actually being honoured with the Crystal Award for his benevolent work. But
while the cat is away, the mice are not at play here in India. Instead PM’s team
is performing its duty with utmost sincerity. Just recently, his Information
and Boadcasting and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani was spotted attending
ThinkEdu Conclave in Chennai. The National Award winning filmmaker Madhur
Bhandarkar shared a picture of his with the actress-turned-politician and
captioned it: “Had a great interaction on benefits of creativity on Education
at@ThinkEdu18 Conclave #Chennai with Honorable Minister @smritiirani.”
Smriti Irani has definitely come a long way. We all remember
her fondly for her role of dutiful bahu Tulsi in Kyunki…Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu
Thi. Clad in a Gujarati saree and loaded with designer jewellery, she was the
benchmark of an ideal bahu for the nation. Even NRIs living abroad would tune
into to the show just to catch up with family values of an Indian household. Apart
from Kyunki…she has also worked in hit serials like Kavita, Maniben.com,
Ramayan, Kuch Diiil Se… While her onscreen image evolved with every show, on
the personal front too Smriti grew as a person. She married businessman Zubin
Irani and has two beautiful children too.
Soon, she turned to politics and since then, has been
serving the nation with supreme devotion. No matter what profile she has been
given, she has consistently performed her duties. Even when it comes to fashion
sense, she has transformed in a big way. Now her styling has toned down a lot.
No chunky jewellery, no gaudy sarees. Just a traditional six yard with a
symbolic Mangalsutra and a pair of earrings and yet, her charismatic
personality stands out.
All this in just 18 years of public life that too without a
taint on her reputation, is commendable. Proud of you, mam!
