Dil Se Dil Tak is all about jewellery

Same old saas-bahu saga, husband-wife’s troubled paradise and preaching over sanskaar may not please you anymore but the way our TV serials have been styling their characters these days is something to watch out for. A special attention is given to the look of not just the protagonists but also the character actors. Especially when you tune in to Colors’ serial Dil Se Dil Tak, you are in for a spectacle of glitzy jewellery.

Whether it is a party, a wedding in the family or just another routine day, each character in the show is dressed up for festivities. The best part is every character has a unique taste in jewellery. While some indulge in intricately-designed gold jewellery, pearls, jadau and even tassels are hot favourite amongst others. The show also ensures to bejewel the men in the family, occasionally.

Not just techniques, the show’s jewellery designers explore different aspect of women’s adornment. From a trendy pair of jhumkas to a traditional nath, a regal looking choker to a designer ranihaar and most importantly, the mangalsutra donned by Rashmi Desai, each piece is thoughtfully created keeping in mind the characters.

For instance, in the initial few episodes, Teny played by Jasmin Bhasin was an extrovert young girl who loved to adorn herself with chunky jewellery and thus, her ensemble comprised of tassel earrings, colourful thread bangles and even a hair accessory. Later, when her character evolved into a mother who is far more serious in life, the jewellery designs were toned down yet retaining the colourful aspect of it through Meenakari work and the hair accessory was shown the door.  

Utran famed actress Rashmi Desai, who played the role of Parth’s wife Sarvori and is a bahu of a well-off family, was bejewelled with some of the masterpieces. The team of designers had actually put in their heart and soul into designing her jewellery. They offered a range in her ensemble with traditional sets complete with ranihaar, choker, bangles and earrings for celebrations while an understated designer mangalsutra for everyday wear. Hats off to their magnificent creations!

Amidst the bevy of star actors, do not overlook the bedazzling characters played by Vaishnavi Mahant, Dolly Minhas, Urvashi Upaddhyay, Khyati Keswani…. Their jewellery is not just trendy but also path-breaking in many sense. With bold and big motifs, they make for a statement piece that you can flaunt amongst your peers.
